Visit other shadow shooters via Hey Harriet's site.

Looking at the Sky - Friday - 09-04-09

Photobucket hosted by Tisha

My mom used to call these little patches of blue sky "just enough to make a Dutch boy's pants." I have no idea where that saying came from. Do you?

Sepia Scenes 09-02-09: Authentic Sepia

Sepia Scenes is hosted by Mary T, who also hosts the fabulous Ruby Tuesday.

Speaking of archival photos - these are some family photos that I scanned for a look at some authentic sepia! The first is my grandfather (seated), Wallace "Bud" Weiser with one of his vaudeville acts.

Here are four generations: Mary Tate Hansen, my great grandmother; Grandma Elsie Hansen Weiser; my mom, Gwen Weiser Grayum; and yes, that's me at about 3. Mary's father was the editor of the Deseret News in Salt Lake City in the 1800s; Grandma Weiser sang with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, which may be where she met Grandpa Wallace (Bud). Mom was a singer and so am I, so it runs in the family.
