Despite a little vandalism, my best guess is that the mausoleum holds the family of Donald Macleay, a prominent Portland merchant. Macleay was an early real estate developer and an investor in railroads.

What an amazing place. I'm stoked. We get to Portland at least once a year and this place has moved to the top of my list of places to visit. I'm so excited.

Mausoleums are fascinating and often beautiful, aren't they? I guess it's a way for the rich to be remembered by future generations.
The stonework and craftsmanship look good in sepia, as well as the shape. A work of art in a place that most aren't looking for. Obviously an important family from times past, once one of Portland's finest!
The sepia makes those mausoleum shots VERY creepy, but VERY compelling.
