Window Views - 10-01-09

Mary T hosts Window Views.

Here's a cellar window at the Baptist church I posted last week. It's at sidewalk level. It's hiding an open concrete area, nothing very exciting like I was hoping for.

Ruby Tuesday - 09-29-09- Liza Jane

MaryT/theteach hosts this weekly event - photographs of all things red.

Liza is now five months old, still with the rakish ear. She hasn't decided if she wants to wear them up or down, so for now one of each will do. This was her first trip to the beach. She loved the sand, but the big waves? Not so much.

She has an appointment with the vet on Friday. She thinks she's getting sprayed.

Macro Monday 09-28-09: On the beach

Macro Monday - hosted by Lisa

There are often tangles of kelp on the Oregon beaches.

Sometimes it can resemble other things...

Mellow Yellow Monday 09-28-09

MellowYellowMondayBadge

Mellow Yellow Monday links are here. I'm trying a few new memes to get a little different inspiration going. Not that the world is uninspiring as is....

On the street in front of a beach house we're renting this weekend. Curious - why 14, and not 10 or 15?

Weekend Reflections 09-26-09

New meme! Weekend Reflections hosted by James. I love catching reflections in windows, mirrors, water, raindrops, so this meme called to me. Thanks to Carolyn for pointing me there (unbeknownst to her).

I photographed this window because of the beautiful glass and tile inside; I wasn't aware of the reflections at the time. Now I'm not sure what's reflection and what's original view.

Macro Monday 09-21-09 Spidey

Macro Monday - hosted by Lisa

I got up close and personal with this spider the other day. Aren't her markings spectacular?

She seems to be repairing a hole in the web...

...which is such a fascinating bit of architecture.

This is her underbelly - can't see the web because of the white background. I think this is a common cross spider, Araneus diadematus
.

We have a plethora of stone churches in Portland. This is a Baptist church in our neighborhood.

Found in a junk store. I like the way the light and shadows play on it along with the reflections. Click on photo to see a bigger view.
