Macro Monday 09-21-09 Spidey

Macro Monday - hosted by Lisa

I got up close and personal with this spider the other day. Aren't her markings spectacular?

She seems to be repairing a hole in the web...

...which is such a fascinating bit of architecture.

This is her underbelly - can't see the web because of the white background. I think this is a common cross spider, Araneus diadematus
.

Wonderful photos!! Spiders are indeed creative architects! Thanks so much for showing what the spider looks like, rather than just the web!!

Wow! Great shots of both the spider and the web! The underbelly of the spider gave my stomach a whirl...I do hope she stays on that web! Great post!

Yep, that's a Common Cross spider! We get a lot of them here. In fact, there is one just outside our back door, spinning a huge web... shhh! Don't tell OH!!

She is rather gorgeous, isn't she? Great pictures, too!
