Looking at the Sky - Friday - 09-04-09

Photobucket hosted by Tisha

My mom used to call these little patches of blue sky "just enough to make a Dutch boy's pants." I have no idea where that saying came from. Do you?

I've never heard that expression before. Hmmm. I'm not sure I understand what it means. However, I like the sky with just a bit of blue.

This is a beautiful capture. Thanks so much for sharing. As for the saying, I've never heard of it either. But, I'm sure it has meaning.

Happy Friday! Thanks for playing.

I have no idea where the saying comes from; but I am going to have to figure out before I can rest, now. Beautiful photo of the sky though.

Like Dianne, I wonder about the old paint company and if the multiple colors come prom the color samples cards? What ever the saying, this sky is not merely gray, but a large grouping of grays, several shade we see. A cloudy sky is a pretty as a blue sky!

I think those pants may be what that expression refers to.
