Grab your cameras and show me an AUTUMN SUNSET where you live. If you are in an area with a lot of rain and clouds and not much in the way of sunsets, that's fine, show me how it looks just as the light begins to hand things over to the night. Show me as close as possible, the closing light of day. No archives for this one, I want to see this year's AUTUMN SUNSET!I happened to look out the window at just the right time this evening and spotted a beautiful sunset. It's mild here in Portland - for December - and not raining or cloudy today. We don't have much of a horizon view in our backyard, but viewing the sky through this grand English walnut tree is quite a treat. (Click on photos to enlarge enjoyment.)
As I was shooting these photos, I could hear children playing outside. It reminded me of my childhood, playing Kick the Can or Hide and Seek until sunset. Usually in the summer, though, not December!

Hi Terri :)
Hon, these are just wonderful. The colors are really striking. This late in the year, it's great to still be seeing some lovely colors. One thing, you have left me a hyperlink. I really need you to comeback to Ellipsis and leave me the complete link to this entry written out. I can't accept hyperlinks. If you can do that sometime between now, and next Sunday evening that would be great. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. :)

Hi Again Terri :)
Thanks so much for coming back with the link. It is appreciated so much, as is your wonderful entries. Thanks again for playing the challenge this week!
Always, Carly
Excellent Sunset photos! Wonderful color! :)
I am loving the pink hues with the silhouetted tree. Nice job!
Lovely pictures -- the tree silhouetted is quite stunning. Nice work!
This is so beautiful, with the silhouette of the trees.
While the first photo has beautiful colours and a fascinating silhouette the second one spoke to me of the last leaves of autumn to fall pictured against a gentle sky. It gave me the feeling of a job well done and a soft bed being prepared to rest on.
Thank you :)
Very nice indeed! I especially love the sort of cotton ball effect of the tiny pink clouds against a blue sky, and the contrast between pink sky and dark bark.
