Wow! These are interesting gravestones. The 1st one died at age 13 (so sad) and the other died at age 67. Good subject for sepia!

I need to get out and about to some local cemeteries. Tombstones are nice in sepia. ;-)

oh I love these. I actually have some photos I took myself at the local cemetery.

I know it may sound crazy to some...but, I find them very lovely, interesting, and also a cemetery is just a peaceful place.

These are great old stones you found. Thanks for taking the time to get the shots and share them!!:-)

The sepia makes this look as if the photo was actually taken in 1879. Soft and poignant, this is a great picture!

I'm with EG - I need to get to some cemeteries too. Sepia is a wonderful choice for these aged markers. They are so much more ornate than is usually the case today. That is if a monument is even allowed.
Well done!

Tombstones were so fascinating back then.
I want one like this when I die.
I've just decided that.

Love the shots - cemeteries are great places to find subject matter for sepia and B&W. Well done.

I did a PhotoStory on a really interesting gravestone in the same cemetery last week, see it here

I find the old cemeteries fascinating too, and great subject material. Thanks for visiting!

What unique headstones. One has a small book on it. Never have seen that. And what is that intriguing face in the second photo. Excellent sepia.

They turn out very well in sepia.

Such interesting gravestones, and a really fitting choice for sepia.

There is a very old little cemetary near my parents' home. I kept meaning to go shoot there last summer but there wasn't really a safe place to leave the car (windy country road). Maybe I'll try again this summer.

Tombstones are always great subjects for sepia photos. The sepia tone gives it an eerie, mystical quality.

Perfect choice for sepia! Well executed too.

The sepia creates a great new look for these older headstones. I know from experience that they blacken quite a bit as they age. Very lovely.
