Sepia Scenes 03-25-09: Back in Time
Sepia Scenes is hosted by Mary T, who also hosts the fabulous Ruby Tuesday.
For once, my photos come not from a vintage store but from my own ancestors.
The photos are in a small leather-bound book. There are (already sepia!) photos of my great grandfather as an infant and some photos of great-great grandfather in the military (Civil War).
The autograph book is a small red velvet book that was my maternal great-grandmother's.
A page from the autograph book:
Grandma Norma's watch, inscribed with her name. There's also a place for a photo, like a locket. It's made by the E. Howard Watch Co., Boston. I'm having a hard time getting a good photo of this.
Grandpa's watch. It still has the braided leather fob.

I wish I had a scanner so I could make more use of old family photos. Yours are marvelous and you did a wonderful job of showcasing them.
You have a gift for the sepia shots!
Is it weird that I love the penmanship in that autograph book?
What a treasure to have these! And the penmanship ... I want to write like that!
You've inspired me to take some photos of my grandfather's watch:)
You are very lucky to have these wonderful mementos of the past. Treasure them. I love looking at old photos, everyone always looks so prim, proper and serious. Thanks for sharing a little bit of your world.
