Sepia Scenes is hosted by Mary T, who also hosts the fabulous Ruby Tuesday.
Even before the nearly extinct 33 1/3 rpm records, there were 78s. They were thick and heavy (and much more satisfying to break!) Storage was an issue.
I like these 78s! I imagine hearing an original recording by someone like Benny Goodman, scratches notwithstanding. The heavy acetate material is heavy but not very strong as dropping these...well, the shattering sound is unique! Imagine a previous world with nary a digital sound
I love that. I just made a book sepia photo to post when I'm on vacation. I love the way your books are all tattered. My daughter's kindergarden teacher used to call them "well loved books"
I've been retired since November, 2008. I've been spending lots of time taking photos, singing, and writing. Currently working on a historical fiction novel.. I highly recommend retirement!

Wow, Terri, I remember those! And you're right - much more satisfying to break! Though they are probably worth something today! Happy Sepia Scenes! :)
Very cool and brings back some memories of breaking a few of my mom's 78's
Lovley shot in sepia!

Yes, I remember albums - I still had some up until a few years ago... with no player. hehehe
Very cool sepia subject!
One can certainly tell these were well loved and enjoyed!
As always Terri - a great find for sepia.
Does it mean I'm old if I know who Dennis Day is?
(I love Jack Benny!)
Oh, and I love your sepia shots every week too!

Nice subject for the shot. I have several of those old albums, want any, LOL. Can't give them away and the old bands were wonderful.
