Nature Notes is the brainchild of Rambling Woods who challenges us to "look at something you might never had paid attention to..a flower…a plant..an animal…What changes are taking place?..Is your garden starting to come to life again?"
Did you know you can buy ladybugs? And hire them to work in your garden?
Our fruit trees have been infested with aphids the last couple of years. Aphids are a ladybug's favorite snack.
We turn them loose in the garden in the cool of the evening, and by the next day they're hard at work.
They even get down inside the alliums to munch.
Of course, then they start showing up everywhere - in the kitchen, the bathroom, on the dishes. But we forgive them their trespasses since they do such good work!

A great sequence of pics you must have had fun following them around with your camera. Was Ms P there? just have visions of the pair of you roaming the garden after ladybugs :)
What a good idea. We recently save a lady bug from our pool and got some nifty pics too.
Wish I could by them here in Hungary.
I had to make nettle juice and that stuff stinks (and killed one of my roses, but helped on the berry bushes).

Carletta - we get them at a local garden shop. They need to stay refrigerated until you release them (sort of a forced hibernation). I'm not sure you could buy them online because of that.

We captured hundreds that appeared inside the house this spring and released them, but I haven't seen any in the garden yet. Wonder where they got to?
I think it is so nice when people use natural control methods for bugs and plants.
