Thank you for all your kind comments. This is my first foray into BandW (since my Brownie camera days!) - I'm curious how many of you take the original photo in BW? Or do you mostly convert it after the fact? Not sure of the protocol!

Kathy - I've been using PhotoScape mostly (thanks Jientje!) for simple conversion. If I want to get a little more sophisticated, I use Paint Shop Pro X2 which is like a little sister to Photoshop.
