Monochrome Monday - 02-16-09

Monochrome Maniacs explore black and white.

I have a number of these under freeway photos I've taken in the last couple weeks that I think work well in B/W. I may post them as a series for the next few weeks. I'm fascinated by the lines and curves created by the massive amounts of concrete and metal juxtaposed against delicate-looking trees.

That contrast between the solid stancheons and lacy trees is wonderful. And the guitar shot in the post below is awesome. I love that it it so simple, yet so complex. You do great work.

Excellent photo. Do you know how to adjust curves or levels? It's really fun to do that in Photoshop or Elements for even more monochrome control. I really like the rest of the photos on this blog, too.

Great shot - I love the way the columns divide the photo up so geometrically.

These hard angles and lines make for a great shot.

I too am taken by the angles. It's a textbook example of using lines to lead the eye...

I agree that the lines and shapes are wonderful.

There is something more solid, more timeless, about B&W.
