Ruby Tuesday 05-26-09: Sock Monkey!

MaryT/theteach hosts this weekly event - photographs of all things red.

Happy One Year Anniversary to Ruby Tuesday/Mary!

This little guy rode in my backpack between Portland and New York. He drew a lot of attention, mostly nostalgic comments from people of my generation and older.

Hey Terri, that's a cute monkey you've got there! I had one like it when I was little, way back when. I think my grandmother made it for me.
Happy RT,

I do like this wool monkey. Cute with the reddest lips I have ever seen! A dependable travel pal...

He looks like a great companion. I would comment, too, if I met up with him. Love the mischievous but friendly smile.

I have a 90+ year old great aunt that still makes these. She also makes sock pigs as well. They are so cute and I remember mine as a child. My entry is late but here.
