I've been reading Rambling Woods' blog for a few weeks and have been so impressed by the amount of information she includes in her posts about each item - plus some great reminders about conservation and threatened species. Recently she's posted about the decline of honey bees and of monarch butterflies. And not just doom and gloom, but she lets us know what we can each be doing in our yards to help these critters survive.
I walked around the neighborhood today in search of new things blooming and found a lot. But today I'll post a couple of photos of promises to come - tulips and irises.

Oh Terri..this is a beautiful post and I am so happy to have you join Nature Notes. And I really appreciate the kind comments. I do try to point out how we can help nature because I am learning how to help too....Michelle
These are gorgeous, Terri! No lie, tulips are my very favorite flowers - I love their shapes, their colors, and their aroma. Hope you'll shoot these again when they're in full bloom!
Thanks for visiting me, today!
Just doing some quick browsing on my busy Watery Wednesday. Your photos are wonderful! :-)
Oh, they are gorgeous and perfectly titled.
I think I need to check out "Rambling Woods".
Sounds like something I would like :)
Thanks!
Terri, much of my garden is planted for bees and butterflies. My reward is the ballet they perform for me all summer long. Irises pre-bloom are the ultimate gift wrap job, aren't they! When it does bloom, look into its heart with your lens and see if you can capture that miracle.
