Ellipsis Photo Shoot and Nature Notes: Earth Day

This week Carly from Ellipsis invites us to celebrate Earth Day by showing something in the natural world that we particularly appreciate. I love living in a place where we can see sights like this on clear days; or be on a beach at the Pacific Ocean in a little over an hour. Forests, mountains, deserts, rivers, lakes, ocean beaches - we have it all here in a small circumference. I love Oregon.

Mt. Hood. Taken from Mt. Tabor - a Portland park near our house - yesterday, Tuesday April 21st.

Combining this with Michelle's Nature Notes for this week.

Hi Terri :)

What a stunning sight! I want to get up to Oregon sometime. Alan and I talk about taking a long car ride, and all that beauty really calls me and my camera! Beautiful!

I would love to be an hour from the ocean beach as the only beach close to here would be on Lake Erie. lol. This is a fantastic view...Perfect for Nature Notes....

Wow, that's gorgeous! Luck you to live with such a variety of natural wonders so close to hand. I think I would like Oregon.

Awesome! No, really. Literally awesome. It almost looks like it's floating in mid-air!

I also did Nature Notes - I hope you’ll stop by mine!

We are truly lucky, with Mt. Hood in our back yard and the beach so close by. That's a beautiful picture -- one that could go on a calendar or postcard!

It almost looks like it is floating in mid-air with the snow on it. Very nice shot!
