Today's Flowers - 04-20-09

Well, it's spring and the flowers are bursting open everywhere I look. So here's a new weekly meme just for the flowers! Today's Flowers hosts and links to flowers around the world can be found here.

I don't know what this flower is -- it lives around the corner from us. I love the fuzzy stalks and sepals. If you can identify it, I'd love to know what it is!

Its proper name is Pulsatilla vulgaris, a beautiful cold climate wildflower.
Great photo.

Back again, I see there are a few versions of its common name in German. The accepted common name however is Kuechenschelle or in tranlation, kitchen bell.
