PhotoHunt - HOPE 01-03-09

This week's PhotoHunt assignment: HOPE

Hope is something I have a lot more of since November 4th!

This photo is a mural at a drum store in Portland. I spied it as we were leaving town yesterday and stopped on the way home today to photograph it. Portland-Mutare (Zimbabwe) Sister City Association/Africa AIDS Response organized the project. From their website:
Increasing awareness in the Portland community is one of the main goals of Africa AIDS Response. Through education, outreach, and direct connections, we hope to make the distance between Mutare and Portland seem just a little smaller.

Here's something else that makes me hopeful:

Yes, for vital for the children! That one little fella looks like he's a bit annoyed at what we've been doing :-)

I've been retired since November, 2008. I've been spending lots of time taking photos, singing, and writing. Currently working on a historical fiction novel.. I highly recommend retirement!
