Think of three photo themes for the new year! Pick one, photograph it, and share the other two along with your challenge update. Open themes - your choices - have fun with your camera. We'll add your other two themes to the photo challenge pool for use in 2009!Of course, in true procrastinator's style, I've put this off till the last minute. For my first theme, I'm choosing macro photography. I love getting to see the intricacies of a plant, an insect, a guitar string.... I see things in the photo I never would have noticed otherwise.
This one was taken a couple of weeks ago. It's a sunflower encased in ice and snow.
Other themes I'd like to work on:
- Shooting in low light (indoors) and outside night shots
- Movement shots: birds, children, insects

That is an awesome photo! Well don m'dear! It has such a tone to it, I am not sure, maybe silence. Although, I can almost feel the cold when I look at it! I really like it a lot!
Low light certainly has it's own challenges ... I'm looking at a new camera for this year and having a camera that performs well in low light is essential for me.
The macro is interesting - I usually see the Sunflower in all it's glory. This was a different perspective, nicely done!

That's a beautiful image, and a sunflower encased in snow is packs a powerful emotional punch, too.
I love macro, and my low light photos really bite, so those are great opportunities for pleasure and growth for me. I'd enjoy trying more motion shots, too. Great ideas!
Pretty cool - er, cold! I'm trying to comprehend how that's a sunflower, not having seen one in about 35 years. Guess I'll have to take your word for it.
I like the low light idea. My camera doesn't, but I do! ;)
How neat! I love shots like that.
Well done...
And good ideas too!

The sunflower encased in ice is a great macro shot, although it makes me cold. ;-) Good ideas!
Ewwwww! I LOVE that! I guess I like sunflowers all year round. :)
